Bikers, Bitches & Bedlam...

Got to start somewhere... And to start off a new blog with a dislocated finger is going to suck, a lot. I'd like to say I popped some sucker in the mouth who sorely deserved it and dislocated my finger, but I'd be lying through my teeth. Truth is, I popped it out of joint trying to raise a window so I could enjoy a little flow-thru ventilation since the weather has been so nice this week here in Dixie. It's been 4 days now, and the swelling went down yesterday and I can move it a little without grimacing in pain. It had me worried at first, thought I had either broken the knuckle or torn some tendons off the bone. But I think it's on the mend, for now.

This getting old shit is not for the weak or timid, I'll tell you that right up front. And when you never really planned on seeing things past your 20's, it makes it all the more interesting. No, didn't have a "death wish", just lived fast and furious and didn't really give a flying shit about whether I saw the sun come up the next day or not. By the time I was 20, I had already been shot 5 times and stabbed 3, had seen half of my friends either OD or go off to jail for the rest of their good years. Many of them are just now getting out of prison. Love just wasn't happening the way I wanted it to either, so wasn't a lot to look forward to long term one way or another. But the sun comes up every morning whether you give a shit or not, and I'm just like the next guy, so you do it all over again, and again, and again...

Finally found my soulmate (32 years next anniversary), we had three wonderful kids and as I write, 2 wonderful Grandkids from our oldest son. Middle son and his wife are starting to talk about kids in a serious tone so maybe we'll have some more little Suggs running around underfoot soon. Our youngest, and only daughter is looking for love, so who knows maybe she'll find a good man and we'll have a plethora of Grandkids running around. I had one of those patriotic moments back in the 1980's after our first son was born and joined the USAF. Wound up doing six years as a cop no less, stuck out in the middle of Okla-Fricking-Homa for my entire 6. Yeah, there were some TDY's here and there but aside from the friends, Brothers, and Sisters, I made while there, OkieDokie Land sucks ass. Smells like ass, looks like ass, tastes like ass (don't ask...). But it did allow me to do my thing for my country as my Father and my Grandfather did, but I'd really be happy to not see any of my kids/Grandkids carry on this family tradition.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not dissin' any of our troops, proud of and respect each and every one of them, it's the System I fear. Matter of fact, as I have gotten a little older, I have gotten a lot wiser at seeing these "systems" for what they really are. Money makers and self justification is all most "systems" amount to when you look at them with an open mind. Take the "War on Drugs" system. How long have we been fighting that one folks, how many BILLIONS of dollars have we dumped down the toilet year after year? Are we any better off? I think if anything, there are more drugs today than when the "War" begun. We're in the same boat with all of our "Wars". The "War on Crime" is the largest money maker in this country. Have you ever stopped and thought about just how many people are totally dependent for their livelihood on crime. Hundreds of thousands of people, not just the cops. Every time some piece of shit breaks into your car/house/business, he/she fuels the "Crime System" to another level. Crime does indeed pay, every two weeks, with benefits too!

Take the lowly Parking Ticket, when you find one on your windshield, Congratulations, you just enabled at least 100 people to feed their family for another day! Who you ask? Well think about it a minute. Who comes to mind when you think about that parking ticket and how it got there. That's right, THE METER MAID! Well, your right, that bitch probably did put the ticket on your windshield, but it didn't start with her and it won't end with her either. Ok, your meter expired, BAM... ticket! How did the meter get there? Who installed it? Who empties it? Who fixes it when it breaks (or you beat the ever loving shit out of it with your tire iron...). Who cleans it? Who puts those numbers on it? Who built it? Who painted the parking space markers? Who drew the map that shows the pencil necks at City Hall where all the meters are located? And how did the Meter Maid get to your car? That's right, the Interceptor II, By GoFour Industries. So the vehicle, the tires, the oil, the wipers, the headlights, the mechanics, the garage, the flashyflashy lights on top, the bulbs, the gas, the paint, the decals, the radios, the cup holders, the insurance, the repairs, the maintenance, the training (top heavy little boogers...), the battery, and on and freaking ON! And we haven't even gotten to the actual paper ticket yet, have we? If you stop to think just how many little people all play their tiny little roles in the "War on Crime", it adds up real fast. And that's why it will never be won, too many people depend on "crime" in all it's ugly facets to make their paycheck. Why would anyone want to win it, and put an end to it?

So, yeah, I'm not a big fan of "systems" to say the least. At worst they are designed to prey on the people at large, and at best they are just self supporting leaches. So, I really have sort of lost my aim here. Let's see... Bikers, Bitches & Bedlam. Bob, I'll take Bikers for $200.00 please. Do I have enough "finger" left to even get started on this one? I really don't think I do actually. AND, The Walking Dead Season 1 Marathon starts in 5 minutes too! So looks like this is all your gonna get out of me for this sitting. Stay tuned as I spin my wheels, jack my jaw and generally try to impress you with tall tales about myself. I'm a legend in my own mind...
